Dealing with different face shapes and "obstacles" of the face - Contest

This contest will deal SPECIFICALLY with issues of shapes of faces and "obstacles". All painters will eventually have to work with the very fair skinned or very dark child. The same is true with the very thin or very wide face and what about those children that have physical features you need to work with. SOME FACES simply do not work as well on some children as others. If your "normal" faces do not work,  what do you do to take advantage of the child's features to make them look fabulous? The bottom line is we want the children to be happy.

I'll be a little more critical in this contests as the moderator if I feel your particular design doesn't address the shape or obstacles of the face. We want you to think about your design and submission before you send it in. We want to take advantage of this contest and be more critical so that the final posted photos will truly be a tool for others to overcome concerns in these areas.

These are NOT for cheek art designs. It might be something like flowers going up the side of the face but full-face designs are what we are looking for.

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT ANY PHOTOS you need to understand what we are looking for. Focus on the shape of the face or the obstacle. We are looking for some creative designs for this contest. Different shapes of faces or variations can create challenges. Also "obstacles" can also propose a challenge. Like the skin tone contest we are SPECIFICALLY looking for photo ideas that best enhance the shape of the face. We are NOT looking for generic oval faces here. Get creative and show how you take advantage of a very round face, work around bangs or a high forehead (obstacles). The photo page will be split into these categories and we will limit the number of entries to 10 in each category.

tall oval faces or thin faces
triangle shaped faces
round or squared shaped faces (wide)

obstacles
high forehead or with bald head (hint... take advantage of the space available)
bangs

NOTE: In the next three I will be very selective. Our intention is NOT to embarrass a child. OUR INTENTION is to allow you to work around these obstacles in a way to make the child smile and be happy when your face painting is done. All of us will eventually have to deal with these issues. We are looking for you to teach us how to achieve this.

Contests ends when we have a total of 50 photos. Winners were announced on April 15, 2003

On this contest there are no beginner categories, however we will post the age of children under 17 so you can take this into consideration during the voting process. As always, you can send in your photos by e-mail electronically or you can drop them in the regular mail (SNAZAROO, 1214 Metro Park Blvd., Suite 201, Lewisville, TX 75057 USA) and we will do the scanning for you.  ONLY ONE PRIZE PER PERSON. We want to spread the prizes around. All prizes will be given out but the "excess prizes" will be given to the next person in line during the vote process. It is possible because of these new guidelines that 4th or 5th place actually receives a prize.

Other rules.... read this carefully!
1) You may not enter any photo that you have entered before
2) You may not use acrylics or any non-FDA approved face paint in any form. You are otherwise allowed to use any FDA compliant face paint.
3) If your photo is very fuzzy or out of focus it will not be entered. There is no excuse here because we are willing to scan the photo(s) for you.
4) Do not take your photo from 20 feet away. Get as close to your art work as possible. We want to see the art not your entire living room.
