Painting Pirates - Photo Contest 2006
This contest is based on the
Pirate theme. It does not have to be a Pirate but it certainly must go with the
theme. BE CREATIVE and do not submit a photo you have seen painted 100 times
before. There are fairly tight parameters on this contest.. Look at
other photos posted to get your guidelines on the direction of this contest.
This can be on the face, body or cheek art. Be CREATIVE. We do not want photos that are exactly like other
photos already posted. We will
not accept, for example, a photo that looks to much like another photo. All other guidelines as found at
http://www.snazaroo.us/faqphotos.htm apply. First, second and third place
winners will receive certificates of accomplishment. We will hold this contest
open until we receive 50 photos. Contest closed Nov 2007.
Cynthia Keeler President of FABAC and the face painting convention coming up in Orlando next January has come up with a great prize (or treat if you ask my opinion) for a face painter sending in photos to the current "Pirate Photo Contest". This is being held at www.snazaroo.us/06/6pirate.htm This is your chance for some great publicity. She has offered the cover photo shot for the convention brochure. The artist would receive named credit for their work.
As you probably know... this contest is in process and already near the original completion count of thirty photos. We feel we need to extend this contest a bit to allow for additional entries. So what we have agreed to do is to allow the contest to stay open until EITHER the end of October or until we have received a total of fifty photos WHICH EVER COMES FIRST.
Here is a the twist, in order to protect those that have already entered... if the person that wins the most popular vote during the voting process does NOT want their photo to be used (for any reason), they can opt to decline Cynthia's offer and the cover shot would fall to the next in line. If the top three vote winners decline the cover photo opportunity (which I think would be crazy) then Cynthia may opt to withdraw her offer or she may hand select a photo of her choice and pass on the offer.
Any photos submitted must be free from any legal issues to be used in Cynthia's printed material.
We appreciate Cynthia's generous contest offering and I think it adds some excitement to the contest.

One final note... in fairness to those that have already entered a number of photos... if you have submitted 3 or more photos.... we will opt to allow you to swap out up to two photos. I think this makes it fairer to those who really want to strut their stuff. Again, this contest when we either receive fifty photos or October 31st passes. This "swap" must make this switch promptly.

When you submit photos for any contest they will remain posted. Any changes in text or removal of photo at a later date requires a $5 administration fee.
Other rules.... read this carefully!
1) You may not enter any photo that you have entered before
2) You may not use acrylics or any non-FDA approved face paint in any form. You are otherwise
allowed to use any FDA compliant face paint.
3) If your photo is very fuzzy or out of focus it will not be entered. There is no excuse
here because we are willing to scan the photo(s) for you.
4) Do not take your photo from 20 feet away. Get as close to your art work as possible. We
want to see the art not your entire living room.
