Storybooks and Fairytales
- Photo Contest 2008
The Face Painting and Body Art Association Convention is January 4-8th, 2009 with a theme "Storybooks and Fairytales," we are opening a contest targeting this theme. Submissions can be Full Face Face-painting (full face must cover at least half the face), cheek art submissions will be declined. Body Painting (PG 13 rules apply) designs on the arm or leg would be called body-art and must be a MINIMUM of 8 inches in any direction. A small design, for example, on the arm will be rejected. Submissions must somehow fit the theme "storybooks and fairytales." If it is not obvious to us, then we will ask those that submit how their submission fits the theme. You may submit photos to either or both sections. We will post the full face designs at the top and body art to the bottom.
Contest deadline for submission is 8:00am November 18, 2008 CST, for voting to begin on November 21, 2008. We will put full face designs at the top of the page and body painting at the bottom of the photo page. Those on the SNAZAROO discussion list and members of FPBAA may vote when we open the contest to voting. ONE VOTE per person regardless if you are a member of FPHQ and FPBA Association. All other guidelines as found at http://www.snazaroo.us/upload.htm and www.snazaroo.us/faqphotos.htm apply.
1st Prize, subscription to the FPBAA Magazine and feature artist in the FPBAA Magazine. All winning photos, including honorable mentions, will be published in the FPBAA Magazine. All winning entries, including honorable mentions, are the property of the FPBAA for the purposes of promoting the FPBAA Convention (possibly on a Convention t-shirt). Members of the SNAZAROO list will vote for the winner, in regards to 1st place prize, but FPBA has the right to select the photos of their choice for the FPBAA promotional purposes. The top three winners will also win certificates for winning.
NOTE: When submitting make sure your photo image is under 350kb. If your design is picked for the publication Cynthia will require high resolution images. She will request these images. If the resolution of your photo is not of sufficient resolution for publication then we may opt to select another photo for use for the magazine.

When you submit photos for any contest they will remain posted. Any changes in text or removal of photo at a later date requires a $5 administration fee.
Other rules.... read this carefully!
1) You may not enter any photo that you have entered before
2) You may not use acrylics or any non-FDA approved face paint in any form. You are otherwise
allowed to use any FDA compliant face paint.
3) If your photo is very fuzzy or out of focus it will not be entered. There is no excuse
here because we are willing to scan the photo(s) for you.
4) Do not take your photo from 20 feet away. Get as close to your art work as possible. We
want to see the art not your entire living room.
