If you want to join the world's largest e-mail discussion list for face painters then enter your e-mail address in the box to the left. One of the the most common questions is "what should I buy?". We of course want you to buy our products but we have a very large range of products which cover everything from the single use kits up to kits that will literally paint thousands and thousands of full-faces. The answer to this question requires a little input from you the buyer. We really need you to answer some questions to help serve you better. Do you have a budget? How many children do you wish to paint? Are you painting full faces or just cheek art? How many painters will you have at this event? Answer these questions and we can show you the perfect kit for your needs.
This exercise, we hope, will help you select the perfect kit for your needs.

If you are just starting out, your budget is less than $30 or you are wishing to paint less than 100 children drop down to "A" below.

"A"
If you are just starting out, your budget is less than $30 or you are wishing to paint less than 100 full faces or 2000 cheek art designs then this is the section for you. This also might be the perfect section for someone that is looking to purchase a face painting set as a gift for that budding face painting artist. As a basic starter kit we would suggest the eight color "Rainbow Pallet" shown above. This has the top eight colors (white, black, bright red, sky blue, bright yellow, bright green and bright pink). It also includes a face painting sponge, a fine line brush and a face painting guide. This has a suggested retail price of $16.00. If you are painting cheek art at your local school fund raiser and if you position your work area properly two people can work out of this one kit. We suggest one of these kits for each worker but if your funds are tight, you can make it work. If your budget is a little larger you might take a step up and either compliment it with one of the other eight color palettes or move to the fourteen color wheel.
If you have additional funds and you are buying this as a kit, then we suggest you either buy one of our great face painting books (Your Face or Mine is our suggestion $15.00), add a second 8 color pallet to compliment these colors, or add a jar or two of the glitter gels or add a quality face painting brush. If you are at an event where you will be painting all clown faces. Then we suggest you add one 18ml white ($10.00) as you will use much more white than the other colors.

The glitter gel comes in 12ml containers that have a suggested retail of $7.00 USA. You can thin the gels to your desired thickness by adding water. Apply directly to the skin or on top of a painted area. Face "A" was done by Pauline of the UK.

The glitter powders come in 8ml containers and have a suggested retail of $7.00. Apply the glitter powders using your finger, brush, sponge or cosmetic applicator. Apply directly to the skin or over previously painted faces for a shiny effect. See the pictures below to see how these powders have been used for special effects. The powders are available in the colors "*" indicates top selling colors (blue, gold*, green, lilac*, orange, pink, red, silver*, turquoise*, white* and yellow.
"B"If you are familiar with face painting and wishing to get more involved, your budget is less than $100 or you are painting less than 1000 children then this is the section for you. Keep in mind if you are doing cheek art instead of full face designs you can generally paint 20 to 30 times the number of that of the full faces. Now this starts to get a little more complicated. We need to ask some more questions... If this is for yourself and you are the only painter then we suggest you drop down to "BB". If this is for a school fund raiser, or there will be multiple painters, then drop down to "BBB".

"BB" Ok, so you are buying for yourself and your budget is around a $100. There are a number of ways to meet your needs. The question now is, are you painting full faces or cheek art. If you are painting mostly cheek art we would suggest you go with the 28 color pallets since this gives you the largest spectrum of colors. If you are looking at full faces, then we suggest you go with the JUMBO pallets since they are easier to use with a sponge and they work out to be a much greater value in faces you can do, versus dollars spent. Think about how you plan to approach your face painting and then select only one of the following three options.
B1 - Buy one of the Jumbo Pallets and one
of the Jumbo 2 pallets $140.00
(16 colors and enough paint to easily paint 1,600 full
faces or 40,000 cheek art designs)
B2 - Buy one of the Jumbo Pallets and one of the 28A - "Top 28 Color Pallets" $115.00
(36 colors and enough to paint 950 full faces or 23,750
cheek art designs)
Now if your budget was $100 then you have some extra money left over to accessorize. You can go a number of different directions. There are so many options that we can't go into them all but since you are buying for one painter we suggest you add one of the face painting books above, add some extra face painting brushes ( see www.snazaroo.us/products.htm ), add some glitter gel, or possibly add some of the Burpo face painting stamps if you feel your artistic skills could use some support. Look at http://www.snazaroo.us/burposets.htm for more on the stamps.
"BBB"Ok, so you are buying for a face painting event where you have multiple painters and your budget is less than $100. If you are buying for two painters we suggest you go with option B1 or B2 above since two workers can share kits if you position their work area correctly. If you are going to have more than two painters start out with a 8 color "Rainbow Pallet" for each of the workers. Again, these sell for $16.00 each. I then would buy at least one of the face painting books, perhaps a glitter gel or two for additional accent since the children love the glitter. Then with the extra money I would add some of the following products which they could share... Burpo face painting stamps (see http://www.snazaroo.us/burposets.htm ), temporary tattoos (see http://www.snazaroo.us/tattoosonhand.htm ) or add some of the stick on gems.
"C" If you are an experienced painter, your budget is larger than $100 and you are painting more than 1000 children, then this is the section for you. The problem is this really starts to get complicated so we are going to switch you to a number of other pages. If you are buying for yourself, or for one painter then we would definitely encourage you to buy one of our business or volume oriented kits which we call "professional kits". These sell from $250 to $450. See http://www.snazaroo.us/volume.htm This will give you what we feel is "THE perfect kit" that you can build according to your individual needs. Any of these kits would cover everything from a volume individual painter, to the Family Entertainment Center, to the large amusement park. Once you use up particular colors all you need to do is buy the refills in the 2ml, 18ml and 30ml units of paint.
