18ml lids breaking?

Concerned about the 18ml lids and bases breaking? As you know loading and unloading the face paints in and out of your car can take its toll on the lids and bases to these popular paints. We are aware that the 18ml lids and bases can not take very much abuse. We have addressed the issue with the manufacturer many times. We have even changed the resins used several times to make the plastic more durable. Still we get complaints. You may purchase separately the lids and bases for a charge of $.50 each plus UPS shipping. We believe there are a number of better solutions like moving up to the larger 30ml or 75ml individual colors. This container is practically indestructible. These containers are made of a more flexible polypropylene material. With this material they simply will not break. Also note you get a better value when you buy in the larger sizes. However if you like to use a large number of colors this can get heavy. The best solution to to purchase the durable, refillable empty "JUMBO tray". The refillable Jumbo tray sells for $10.00. We also have this same JUMBO tray in a machined high density poly-urethane. You can drive your car over it and it will not break. It sells for $35.00 complete with lid.

Another option is to switch over to the SNAZAROO color wheels. See www.snazaroo.us/wheel.htm for a more detailed description. In the color wheel introduced in 2004 you can hold up to 18 colors. It is a refillable container with smaller round 2ml disks for refills. This is a more condensed kit but it keeps you very organized. Also to refill the individual colors it is very easy. You can fit up to three of the 2ml paints on top of each other for a larger supply. When you buy the refills in units of 8 it is only about 5% higher than buying the 18mls and it is so much easier and certainly a cleaner operation. Consider this as a viable option t getting away from the the 18ml units. We also suggest you buy the hard shell tray that fits like a glove to provide an extremely durable work unit for the rough and ready face painter.

Here are the instructions for transferring the 18ml paints from the 18ml container to the JUMBO tray. Take your 18ml paint in one hand and with a butter knife slide the knife in between the blue base and the clear protective tray that holds the paint. Twist the knife. The knife will release the hot glue holding it. Then simply slide the paint into the tray and push down. This does not void the product liability since you are moving it from one compatible SNAZAROO container to another SNAZAROO compatible container. In addition, when you do this you are never coming in contact with the paint as the paint has a protective plastic on top and below the paint during the transfer. Never transfer SNAZAROO paints into another container that isn't FDA compliant for cosmetics as this will void your product liability. SNAZAROO as well as the other more popular brands can react with other non-approved containers. Always avoid any plastic that contains styrene. Also avoid any metal or wood product containers.
