Small Top Circus is a Professional family run Entertainment Company.

Anne Ardern, Wife, Mum, Face Painter, Clown, Stilt Walker, Juggler, Balloon Modeller, Fire Eater, Fortune Teller, Craft Worker. honed her skills by working with Children in Adventure Playgrounds Youth Centres and Residential Care for 18 years, when the jokes about social workers got too much (what's the difference between a social worker and a Rotwieller? You get you kids back from a Rotwieller!!)  She decided to run away and start a circus. Her husband Steve, after careful debate and consideration for all of 40 seconds, decided to chuck in his job of 20 years working for a bank and join in. Ruth and Tom, their children, did not have much choice in the matter at the time, as they where only two and three years old, but they have got the bug (and got older!!) and are often out at work with their parents stilt walking, juggling and face painting)

Small Top Circus provides all types of circus skills based entertainers to many schools, youth clubs, companies, shopping centres and hotels throughout the United Kingdom.

Anne was already a competent face painter from years of painting kids in adventure playgrounds, but she soon realized that these skills could be used in the corporate market. She now trains and teaches face painters, and runs her own team of 12 painters. As new idea's and trends emerge she has added them to the Small Top Circus repertoire, so she will happily supply you with Hair Braiders, Nail Artists, Henna Tattoo's, Glitter and Temporary tattoo's.

Living Statues and Body Painting has taken off in a big way in the United Kingdom, Anne has a great team of models and designs customized to clients requirements, From Statue of Liberty, Britannia and Poseidon to Wood nymphs and Greek gods.

Small Top Circus often custom makes costumes and props for Companies for Family days and product launches, and will happily join in with planning sessions, using their extensive network of Entertainers, Suppliers, Craftsmen and Traders.

Anne has been on the SNAZAROO "discussion list for face painters" since almost the beginning and is a constant contributor. Recently she was selected to join the "team" at SNAZAROO and holds the responsibility of "moderator". Her responsibilities include the ever eluding task of keep the many people on the list on topic and following the published guidelines.

Recently she joined the "United Kingdom Contingent" at the International Face Painting Convention (in Florida) and participated in the training classes to instruct people from all over the world. Included in her "job" was to be spokesperson and master of ceremonies as Oli Thomas, Dobby and Val Lampkin painted faces. When she is not out performing and Face Painting Anne can be found racing one of her three Dinghies on the River Mersey or walking her three English Setter Dogs!!
