The classic Tiger face
This is a face that won't go away. It is perhaps the most striking effect
that can be achieved in such a short time. Remember, EVERYONE can face paint... try it and
see. You will be amazed.
- Using a damp sponge, apply a yellow base.
- With the sponge, blend orange into the yellow around the outside of the face and down
the center of the nose.
- Using a brush, paint in the white eyes and mouth.
- Using a brush, paint the black whiskers, nose and lips.
- Finish by outlining the eyes in black and of course, the black tiger's stripes.
Here's one for more experienced face painters.
This warrior mask face looks really striking. It looks like it might be
incredibly complex to paint but its really quite easy. It's just a matter of taking it in
stages. This one is done with only with the brush.
- Using a brush, paint in the yellow areas.
- Paint the red diamond on the forehead and the read mouth.
- Paint in the light blue areas around the eyes, mouth and outer sides of the face.
- Paint the turquoise areas.
- Apply the dark blue lines over the eyes and down the sides of the nose. Paint in the
dark blue designs on the cheeks.
- Paint in the white teeth and then the pink lips.
- Finish by painting all the black outlines and decorations. Don't forget to outline the
white teeth.
Special Effects Make-Up
If you're getting ready for Halloween or just fancy making your friends feel
really ill, try this finger trapped in machinery effect.
- Take a lump of Special FX Wax, mould a sausage shape - half the length of your finger.
- This is going to be an artificial finger end. Special effects artists call it an
'appliance'.
- Using a plastic knife, cut up the end that is to be the 'finger tip'.
- Bend your index finger over and replace the hidden part with the FX Wax finger.
- Add lots of Theater Blood, running all over your hand.
- You can then hide your bent over finger with some bloodstained tissues.
- Hold everything in place with your thumb.
- It's easy when you know how!
